NFACC WELCOMES NEW ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

Codes of Practice
Bison – the Code Development Committee had their first meeting in March. A summary is available at www.nfacc.ca/progress-report-bison.
Chickens, Turkeys and Breeders – the Code Development Committee met in February and will meet again in May. Numerous sub-committee teleconferences have been held. A summary from the February meeting is available at www.nfacc.ca/poultry-progress-report. The public comment period is now tentatively scheduled for Fall 2015.
Poultry (layers) – the Code Development Committee met in March and will meet again in June. Numerous sub-committee teleconferences have been held. A summary from the March meeting is available at www.nfacc.ca/progress-report-layers.
Rabbits – the Code Development Committee had their first meeting in March. A summary is available at www.nfacc.ca/progress-report-rabbit.

Project Achievements Report - Year One
The first project achievements report for NFACC’s Agri Assurance project, Market Relevant Codes and Communication Leadership, is now available. The report features:

LOBLAW’S 2014 CSR REPORT RELEASED
Loblaw’s latest Corporate Social Responsibility Report (CSR) is now live on www.loblaw-reports.ca. The report summarizes Loblaw’s CSR activities for 2014, including the appointment of Dr. David Fraser as scientific advisor on animal welfare.
CANADIAN LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT (CLT) CERTIFICATION PROGRAM FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT
A national training and certification program for those who handle and transport farm animals will be made available online thanks to $180,000 in government funds. The money comes from Growing Forward 2, a five-year provincial and federal initiative that supports a variety of projects in the agriculture and agri-food industries.
